Best of Sunday Girl

Well kids this is my last post. I know that I promised to finish out the year, but I've decided to end it early since I know that I will not have time to post for the next couple of weeks. I've decided to share with all of you my favorite posts from my year of blogging and I hope you enjoy them. Thanks for the memories!

Period Movie Proves to Be Little More Than Boobfest
Because of the title of this post I got a lot of hits from people doing searches for "Boobfest"

It's Not Me, It's You
I got a lot of flack on this one due to my apparent lack of geography skills.

The Blizzard of '05
...And now I have a craving for Dairy Queen

And the Award Goes to...
and And the Award Goes to... ME! No, Not Really.
Sunday Girl covering the Oscars. Does it get any better than this? Although looking back I probably should have live blogged it, but then I couldn't switch back and forth between that and Showgirls on Vh1.

They Is?
Short, but sweet.

Attack of the Killer Keys
My favorite bad date story. Beware.

It's Looks Just as Stupid When You Do It
My all time favorite.

Hold Me Closer Tony Danza!

I hope you enjoyed reading it I much as I enjoyed writing it. That's all she wrote!

Tim Gunn is a Silver Fox!

I'll admit I have a little thing for Tim Gunn of Project Runway fame. I can't help it. My little heart goes all a-twitter whenever he is on screen. There is just something about him that just makes me blush a little. Even though I know there is no chance for us, I can still dream can't I?

Bravo has even sweetened the deal for us by giving Tim Gunn his own blog where he goes through all of designs from each episode of Project Runway. I love it when he hates stuff such as the losing design from last nights episode. Thanks, but no thanks Raymundo. That outfit was as ugly as sin and Tim Gunn lays it all out for you.

The secrect to Tim Gunn's foxiness? Expensive skin products from Saks Fifth Avenue

Foxy!

Also, it should be noted that my dear friend Beautiful Lis just graduated from Parsons and that I forced her to take my by her school when I visited in hopes that I might run into my little crush. Alas, it was not to be.

Best Thing I've Seen All Week

I know it's still early in the week, but I doubt if anything could really top this. On my way to work this morning I saw an overweight gentleman wearing nothing but basketball shorts and a stocking cap shoveling his walk and barking, yes barking, at every person and car that went by. I love this city.

The Day After Tomorrow

If there is a tomorrow that is.

Boston is beginning to resemble a scene from a distaster movie. Today alone we have had rain, hail, thunder, lightning, and driving snow. Good times. I'll be making my way to the Boston Public Library soon in hopes that Jake Gyllenhal will be trapped there.

The Time Has Come To Say Goodbye...

I've been thinking as we come to the end of 2005 that maybe it is time to retire this dear little Blog of mine. Perhaps it is time to go back to my own private journal and keep my thoughts to myself. I have greatly enjoyed sending my silly stories out into the great unknown of the internet, but now that I am no longer a newbie in the big bad city I feel that the time has come to retire the old girl. I'll finish out the month, but come January 1 there will be no new postings. Thank you everyone for reading!

Dinner Party Interrupted by the 1870s

The Roommie and I decided to have a dinner party on Sunday night. We were happily chopping, mixing, and stirring away, when just after I had put my Chocolate Mink Cake (A flourless chocolate pudding cake, yum!) in the electric oven, the power went out. On our entire block. This threw a wrench into our dinner plans since we still had to bake the appetizer and the main course and I was pretty sure that after only five minutes of baking the cake was still raw.

The Roommie was able to procure an alternate locale for the dinner party that had power. While we waited for someone to pick us up and drive us over there (the alternate locale is very far away for both us and any T stops), the Roommie and I were left with nothing to do, but talk to each other. Now, don't get me wrong. I like the Roommie and we talk all the time, but usually there is something to talk over like the TV or the radio or white noise. This time there was nothing except us and the candles. I got a glimpse into what life must have been like before electricity and I determined that people must have been very well rested. Once it gets dark there is nothing left to do but sleep.

Luckily, this blast into the past only lasted about 10 minutes. I don't know how much more I could have taken.

First Husband to Take Second Wife

Yes, it's true. My first husband Broccoli is all set to wed another.

Ahh, how fondly I remember meeting Broccoli on the first day of kindergarten when he was jumping down the steps with my friend Annette. Our friendship only progressed when in third grade we both realized that we shared a love for Days of Our Lives. Every day we would meet at the corner between our houses to spend our afternoons playing Clue (after Days was over of course). Then into Junior High where we bravely faced the challenges of Youth Centers (our version of dances), Symphonic Band, and leading roles in Raggedy Ann and Andy. To High School where we finally took that big leap and got married in Economics. I still remember when Broccoli presented me with a plastic ring from a vending machine and asked me to be his fake wife. Ahh, it was a true economic partnership where we lived in South Hampton New York. Me, a film critic, and Broccoli a percussionist for the Philharmonic. And even though our dear daughter Ophelia died in a tragic synchronized swimming accident, we were able to persevere and plan her funneral with one minor misstep that cost us our solid A and landed us with an A- on the project.

Alas, our union was not meant to last and upon seeing the A- we received on our project, Broccoli and I decided that it would be for the best if we split our assets and went our separate ways. The split was amicable and we still remain friends to this day, kind of like Bruce and Demi.

So, congratulations Brock and Christina! I know you two will make each other very happy. Yay!
